The insecticidal properties of pyrethrum, or chamomile, have been known to man for a long time. From the dried flowers of this perennial plant, the mistress prepared powder for future use, which successfully eliminated parasites such as bed bugs, fleas, cockroaches, and mosquitoes.
Pyrethrins in the composition of pyrethrum powder block the transmission of nerve impulses in bedbugs, resulting in paralysis and rapid death of the insect. In addition, the unique properties of pyrethrum powder, also known as Persian or Dalmatian powder, made it possible to fight not only with bedbugs, but also with mites, and even with helminths.

However, some advantages of the powder at the same time are its disadvantages. Thus, insecticides in its composition quickly disintegrate in the light, and therefore do not have a sufficiently long action to destroy all the larvae and adult bugs.
Accordingly, it is advisable to use the powder with a small number of parasites. Another drawback of this tool is the fact that it is quite difficult to buy feverfew from bedbugs today in the free market.

How to make such a powder at home?
In Russia, Dalmatian daisy and its relative Caucasian chamomile are quite popular garden plants. They are actively used in landscape design due to unpretentiousness to weather conditions and a pleasant appearance. If you look at the cottage to yourself or to your neighbors, then surely you can find there these flowers that adorn the flower beds.
Insecticidal substances called zerins and pyrethrins that affect bugs are in all parts of the plant, but most of them are in inflorescences. Clean them in the period of active flowering.
To carry out drying is better in the attic, that is, not under the open sun. Dried inflorescences should be stored in a dark, dry place.Grind into powder they can be as needed on a regular coffee grinder or in a blender.
If, nevertheless, there is no possibility to grind the flowers into a powder, then an aqueous extract can be made from the crushed raw material. To do this, inflorescences poured into a container (for example, a bucket) to half the volume and pour water. In 24 hours, the filtered infusion can be used to treat the affected surfaces. Despite the fact that pyrethrum is a completely natural remedy, pyrethrins themselves can be quite powerful allergens and cause contact dermatitis, lacrimation, and even an attack of bronchial asthma. However, such effects can occur after the use of almost any medicinal plants. The risk of allergic reactions to feverfew is increased in those who are already allergic to pollen, such as ragweed. For this reason, do not allow direct contact with this powder of very young children.
How to use feverfew from bedbugs?
To apply the powder in hard-to-reach places, a special sprayer or even a regular rubber pear is used, with which the feverfew can be blown into different slots. For processing the same mattress or floor under the carpet will be enough to distribute the powder in a thin layer over the surface.
As for the prepared infusion of feverfew - it can be sprayed using a conventional household spray.
The effect of the product in a lighted area lasts about 1-2 days, so after this period it is necessary to apply fresh powder. If the number of bedbugs is low, then daily processing for 5 days may be enough to get rid of parasites.
Nevertheless, it should be understood that with a high number of bugs in the room, not only pyrethrum powder, but often powerful industrial insecticides will not be able to quickly cope with the problem.
