Forest bugs in an apartment are, generally speaking, a rather rare phenomenon, because they are not human parasites and can only accidentally get into the house. This usually happens when the forests - their natural habitats - increase humidity or forest fires occur.
These foul-smelling forest dwellers can only frighten people with their unattractive appearance, but they cannot do anything wrong.
Forest bug - how to recognize?
The forest bug, the photo of which can be seen below, has an oblate body, resembling an irregular pentagon in shape.
…
The color of such an insect is from dirty green to brown, depending on the species. The forest bug has a long sharp proboscis, which pierces the bark of young trees and the capillaries of grassy plants, and then sucks juice from them.Winter can either under the bark of a tree or in the leaf cover on the ground.
The forest bug breeds, without departing from the place of feeding. The female lays up to hundreds of eggs on the leaves and stems of plants, sticking them so tightly that each egg is difficult to pick off with a fingernail.
The development of an egg lasts about 10 days, after which a larva emerges from it, resembling a seemingly adult individual, but having a smaller size and a slightly different color.
Transformation from a larva to imago takes about 30 days, during this period the future forest green bug will have time to survive several molts.
Recognizing a forest bug among its other relatives is not difficult. His body has a characteristic shape, wide and dense, and a specific color.
There are several known species of these insects, and each color is quite original. The photo shows several representatives of different species of forest bugs:
What bugs can accidentally get into the house?
The forest bug can be in the house by chance, however, this is more likely related to the countryside than to the city. In the latter case, such a phenomenon - a rarity. Many people simply confuse it with tree shields, which is a parasite of agricultural land.
The tree tree is a bit like a forest bug in its color, but as you can see in the photo, it is brighter:
Woody shivnika called stink bug for its pronounced smell, but forest klopik does not have such a strong smell.
There are several other species of hemiptera, which can be confused with the forest bug:
- Red-legged Shchitnik: one of the largest members of the family of shchitniki (up to 16 mm), its chitinous cover is the color of old bronze.
- Shchyatnik bidentate: brown bug with growths in the form of teeth, which preys on small caterpillars.
- American bug: a new species for Russia, which also lives in the forest and feeds on young cones, provoking their drying and decay.
Why forest bugs fly into homes
Forest bugs live in conditions in which ideal temperature and humidity are maintained. If the situation changes and there is a sharp cooling, warming or humidity fluctuates greatly, insects begin to migrate and can find comfortable conditions in a person’s dwelling. Often such invasions of forest bugs are observed during fires.
Reviews:
“Some bugs are constantly flying in to us, according to the description on the Internet they look like forest bugs.I read that they didn’t seem to have to bite people, and indeed they don’t have anything to do in apartments, but the neighbors also complain. Every day, about five of them are found and thrown into the street, they return to us again. ”
Alexander, Orekhovo-Borisovo
“A large tree grows near my house, so bedbugs constantly get into the apartment. And some small, and more forest ... already I just don’t know what to do. We have their whole invasion in the city, everybody complains. And to me with this tree is a nightmare - it is for them as a straight path to my home. I bought Reid from flying insects, but the effect was observed very briefly. ”
Anna, Vladivostok
Are forest bugs and their bites dangerous?
The bite of a forest bug does not pose any danger, especially since these insects are not at all inclined to bite humans. Many people confuse these insects with ticks, but this is fundamentally wrong: ticks are warm-blooded parasites (and their bite can lead to health problems), while bugs parasitize on plants.
Forest bugs can really cause damage and trouble if they start to breed on ornamental, garden plants or food crops. In this they are similar to tree shields: both of these species are parasitic on plants and occasionally occur in people's homes.

Of course, there are bugs, the bite of which can be very painful and unpleasant. Along with household bedbugs, it is also a predator bug, which is quite large in size (up to 2 cm) and feeds on small invertebrates. He has a long piercing proboscis, with which he hunts spiders, imitating the beating of the victim in the nets. The bite of a predator is painful, but predators themselves very rarely fall into the house of a person, and the cases of their bites are generally exceptional.
How to get rid of forest bugs in the house?
Experts do not advise the use of potent chemicals or cause disinsectors to get rid of forest bugs. If even the city has really increased the activity of these insects and they literally “occupy” apartments, it is better to simply try to prevent their penetration.
This can be done using a conventional anti-mosquito net. The forest guest is quite large in size and will not be able to pass through this reliable barrier.
Typically, invasions of forest bugs in the city are temporary, and insects soon return to their usual habitats. Do not even worry that the forest bug can live in a house and harm its inhabitants. For humans, this plant pest is absolutely useless.
To combat forest bugs, it is recommended to simply collect them around the apartment and throw them out of the window, tightly closing it.
Like the woody shushnik, the forest bug has an unpleasant smell, but not so strong.
Feedback:
“When forest bugs appeared in our house, I was completely terrified. Especially when I saw a pair of insects near the crib. But today they said on TV that in Khabarovsk we can invade these forest bugs and that they are completely harmless. In the apartments they simply escape from the forest fire. I then calmed down a bit and did not even kill them. Every day I just collect someone I see and throw it through the window. I learned to take these bugs with my bare hands, although I used to be terrified. ”
Valeria, Khabarovsk
So, if in the apartment forest bugs suddenly appeared, you should not panic. Perhaps these insects are not very pleasant, but they are not capable of harming people, because such bugs feed only on plant juices.
They cause great damage to agricultural land and gardens, spoil the crop, but at the same time are absolutely safe. You should not even try to invent complex methods to combat forest bugs. The easiest way is to just throw their rare representatives out the window, and not worry about them anymore.

Winter however. And these creatures in the clogged apartment on the 10th floor periodically appear, do not understand where from ?!
And precisely forest bugs! Maybe all decorative indoor plants to throw?
And yet, maybe someone knows what stink bugs are afraid of, some smells or something? In our new private house, in the fall they flew in the hundreds - they collected it with a vacuum cleaner. Now they have safely settled in the attic for the winter, it is cold there - they are sleeping. They love to pile (pieces of 20-50) between the boards, under the insulation. Through the slits in the wall paneling, which sheathed the walls and ceiling - easily get into the rooms. Share your experience.
Just about, in the summer I, too, these stink bugs flew through the open balcony, caught and threw it out onto the street again, but the whole winter continues the periodic flying of these creatures around the apartment. Where do they come from in winter?
Call the bee Maya 🙂 Joke. Maybe they lure sugar syrup (with the addition of berry juice, more natural)? In a plate pour.
Generally, these are very smart guys. I flew this on the windowsill. Sat 10 minutes. And at this time he showed a high intelligence.Considered the situation below. I pushed up to the edge to look (many times, fussed, it surprised me, his cleverness, not perhaps, but a plan of action)! Mulling over. Body movements were reasonable, power. Straight, little man. What did he see with his eyes, I do not know? Not a bug, but an eagle!
We have almost the whole house in bedbugs. We carry out the whole packages.
What to do? I live near the forest on the 10th floor! And already caught 5 of these green bugs.
And at me they take off from the conditioner. Within 1 hour, caught a vacuum cleaner pieces 20. Horror.
And in Abkhazia there are now millions of them (the foothills of the New Athos)! They eat, creatures, everything, starting from pumpkin (laginaria) and further - they sit on all fruits. Disgusting and filthy creatures. Climb to the attics of houses through any crevices and shkeratsya in any rags, crevices and more. We really need real advice on how to get rid of them (maybe smoke or spraying). I am able to assemble with a vacuum cleaner (it is a pity only a vacuum cleaner). Is there anything?
It’s just disgusting when it buzzes over the bed at night (You don’t have time to open the door to the balcony, as if they are standing in line there waiting for the disco to open.
I have all the problems described by people above. Why is science silent? Is there really no escape from these creatures? I have a pathological horror from them not from fear for bites, but from disgust ... And those “scientists” who advise us to catch them and throw them out of the window - have you tried to fight this nasty stinker like that? I would like to see how they catch them and sniff them while they stink ...
I also ask myself this question - why did scientists not invent anything against this abomination? Their invasion takes on a global character ...
We, too, flew, 5-10 individuals with mushrooms fell, but we don’t know how to drive them out. Son is afraid. Now mastered on the windowsill.
I live in Georgia. These bugs are not a new fruit, but they never climbed into the house. Only here this year their disrepute. Vile-looking and excessively smelly. Forces from them are already gone, for the first time when we noticed them, only 80 of them were removed from one room. They climb into any crevices and love to settle on a curtain. Give practical advice how to destroy them?
And I protect him from cats, hiding in a jar for the night. Living being, no problem with it. I went to the page to find out what to feed him.I have settled two-toothed guard. Maybe with the branches of the Tui got ...
There is one reason - we break the ecology, mowing grass, a log house. Tall grass, branchy trees - this is someone's home. The variety of natural inhabitants is amazing. New asphalt coating ruins adjacent land. Oil product divorces in the puddles frighten, and someone drinks from the puddle. Pigeons, sparrows. Underground and above-ground flora and fauna suffer.
Something wrong. In such quantities in the house they should not climb. We live in Germany ...
